In a game that was tight all night between Edison and De La Salle,
the Pilots won a thriller as State Champion QB Luke Phromm
came up big in the end once again.  After both teams struggled early on
the Pilots took a 10-6 lead after one.

In the second-quarter the teams heated up. First for DLS 
Phromm and teammates Jordan Winowiecki and Easton Sikorski hit hoops putting the Pilots up 19-9.  But then Edison went on a 12-2 run
led by Pierre Mitchell and Brian Taylor tying the game 21-21 at the half. 


There would be seven lead changes in the second half but none bigger
then the last shot by Phromm.  Down by 2 with 3.8 on the clock
the Pilots inbounded with a pass from Phromm to half court where 
Hall of Fame coach Greg Esler called his last time out with 2.9
left on the clock.  Esler said " we set up two options and one was to Luke" 

Phromm took crosscourt pass and falling back nailed the game-winning triple as time
expired.  


Esler also praised his coaching stafff Tom Mehl, Jeff Becker
adding everybody did a great job."   We run game situations all the time
like this in practice"said senior Fromm.  it's been an awesome run this year
and my teammates are great" added Phromm.   Phromm led the Pilots with 15 points
and teammates Winowicki (10) Sikorski (8) and senior Justin
Fisher (8) combined for 26.


With the win De La Salle moves to 6-2 overalll.  Edison who was lead by 
Mitchell 20 points and Taylor 12 points fell to 4-5.

Lake Shore defeated Cousino in the first round of the MAC BLUE/GOLD tournament.   

#1 Dakota defeats #2 Port Huron Northern


After a tight first half between the Lady Cougars and Lady Huskies Dakota caught fire and dominated the second half with a powerful inside game to beat P.H. Northern 54-39. The Lady Cougars led by five after the first quarter 14-9 , but P.H.N. would tie the game at half 21-21 in what looked like would be a big time MAC Red Division battle. Dakota would then turn up the defensive pressure while putting together a tough inside game from sophomore Cameron Grant  (16 points ) and junior Taylor Williams ( 13 points ).


Grant said" " my teammates got me the ball and I got some good looks"  We have big goals, but were playing one game at a time although we want to get to the state championship game.  Williams who showed she could be tough inside and out stated" we have to stay focused and play each game as they come.  Head Coach Phil McCune was very pleased with his teams second half turn around. "This is a big win at home, we have to play at Northern at the end of the season and this win puts us up 2 and half games."


Dakota moved to 5-0 in the MAC Red and 9-1 overall while P.H. Northern who was led by Sami Klink ( 13 points )dropped to 2-2 and 8-3 overall.

Cousino edges Dakota in Thriller


In a game that would seesaw back and forth the Cousino Patriots would seal the deal by hitting critical free throws down the stretch in a MAC Red Division showdown. " It was a great game" said Patriot Head Coach Mike Lee.  "We split with them this year and we wanted a shot to keep the Red Division Title right here and now we will see what happens the rest of the way, it was a good team effort" added Lee.   Mackenzie Cook and Racheal Adewussi led Cousino with 16 points each.   Kate McArthur added 14.  Kendal Homic who had six points, also had the key defensive play in the last eight seconds. Cameron Grant of Dakota led all scorers with 19 points. 


With the victory Cousino improved to 5-3 in the MAC Red and 9-5 overall.  Dakota is now 6-2 and 10-3 overall and still leads the division by one half game over G.P. North and one game over Cousino.  Final score 57-55.

Warren-Mott Runs By Roseville


The Warren Mott Marauders jumped out to a 21-13 first quarter lead and never looked back in beating the Roseville Panthers 76-60..Warren Mott lead 36-24 at the half. The win kept the Marauders in the White Division race one game behind division leading Romeo. Darius Willis lead WM with 16 points and De'Jon Gantz added 15.
Head Coach Jeff Olind was happy with his teams all around effort.  We played well and our home crowd was.
great tonight" said Olind.  Warren Mott moved it's record to 5-2 in the White and 7-4 overall while Roseville fell to 4-3 and 7-4 overall.
